Violet (Matias) Massar

Violet Massar, 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.  She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Massar and her son, Bernard Massar Jr. She was the youngest and last surviving sibling of the 13 children of Peter & Nettie Matias. She is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Lois & Dominick Montemagno, Donna Massar; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Cynthia Massar; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Massar; four grandchildren, Dominick III (Traci) and Anthony (Maria) Montemagno, Dan Massar (Nicolette) and Amanda Hamilton (Kevin); 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Violet was a longtime member of SS. Cyril & Method Church.  She was devoted to her husband and her family and was happiest when she was home.  She and Bernie enjoyed their many  trips to Hawaii.  A private Funeral Mass was offered with the family present.  Burial was in Slovak Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
