Mary Ann Gresko, of Binghamton

Mary Ann Gresko, 81,  joined God, her parents, Anna and Harrison Connelly, and her daughter Beth, in  the early hours of June 9, 2021. She was many things to many people – a wife, a mom, a grandma, a mimi, a diner companion, and a friend. More than anything, she was loved. Loved for her smile, laughter, comic strip mailings, “Happy Birthday” phone calls, and good-natured (and well-deserved) slaps to her grandchildren’s heads. She is embraced warmly and forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her husband of 63 years Andrew Gresko, with whom she shared her life (can you believe people said, “They won’t last?”); her children Scott (Judy) Gresko and Cathy (Dick “Dickie Pooh”) Okenica; her grandchildren Jennifer, Jason (and Ruger the dog) McMicken, Cameron (Angela) McMicken, Devin (Maggie) McMicken, and Derek Gresko; her great-grandchildren Sara, Ryan (Cameron and Angela), and a baby girl yet to be born (Devin and Maggie); many cousins; countless pets; and her extended family of Richard and June Scott. Each of them carries her with them and promises not to do dumb things, per Mary Ann’s repeated requests. The family would like to thank the staff of Wilson’s North Wing 4 for their compassionate care, good humor, and coffee fetching in her final days. They were a blessing in a difficult time.
