Joseph J. Murcko

Joseph J. Murcko, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020.  He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Pauline Murcko, Sr.  He is survived by his children, Donna Marie Purcell (Lonny), Joseph J. Murcko III (Melinda) and Suzanne Surace (Brett); several grandchildren, Michael Purcell (Kayla), Kristin Purcell, Joseph J. Murcko IV (Maddy), Cierra Murcko, Alyson Braunbeck, Vincent Surace (Janelle) and Christopher Surace; 6 great-grandchildren, Ellie, Emmie, Peyton, and Karsyn Purcell, Lincoln and Paisley  Braunbeck.  Also survived by his former wife and the mother of their children, Donna K. Murcko; his brother, Robert Murcko (Diane); nephews and niece, Todd, Jeff and Ryanne; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.  Joe will be missed by all who knew him.  He had a love for life, family and friends. He was a generous, compassionate, harmless soul who enjoyed having people around him. His kindness to others was the best example of the true Christian spirit, which he embraced.  He loved to make people laugh and put a smile on their face. Many people have been inspired by his love for electronics and music.  He was a retiree of IBEW #325 Local.  In addition to his interest in electronics and music, Joe enjoyed sailing, camping and trains.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mercy House and Lourdes Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown toward Joe.  Charitable donations may be made to Mercy House by those wishing to memorialize Joe.  A  Funeral Service will be offered at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, in the chapel of Mausoleum 2 (top of the hill) at Calvary Cemetery.  Burial will take place at a later date due to conditions at the cemetery.
