Gus "The Swami" Guley passed away unexpectedly in his Mansion on August 31, 2021. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Mary and Leo Guley. He is survived by his son, Gus Guley Jr. (Jamie Guley); his granddaughter Stella Guley; several cousins; his closest of friends and by his loyal companion dog, Jake. Gus was a man of his own accord, always finding a way to live life to the fullest. He had a passion for cooking as he was a chef for many years, in places such as Santa Cruz, CA and Pheonix, AZ - James Brown and Stevie Nicks were among some of the names who had the privilege to try his food. He was also a founder of the Chef's Association in the Southern Tier. Gus' other passions included carpentry; he loved to build things with his hands and especially enjoyed restoring old wood by turning it into masterful works of art. He was the proud owner of his business, Common Sense Home Improvement and served his customers in the area for over 25 years. In his spare time, you could find Gus dancing in his backyard to his favorite blues song, blowing a mean riff on the harmonica in the middle of his kitchen, or at Lincoln Financial Field cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles with his son. (GO BIRDS!) At Gus' request, no services will be held. The family will be hosting a celebration of life in his honor. Memories and condolences may be left on our Tribute Wall at www.bednarskyfuneralhome.com.
