Donna M. Bain passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her parents; Donald and Venena Bain. Donna is survived by her siblings; Joyce Giacoma, Nancy (Jim) Burns, and Ken (Kitty) Bain; nieces and nephews, Karen (Jason) Nuss, Peter and Andrew Giacoma, Jill and Adam Burns, Ezra and Kaylee Nuss, and Emilia Giacoma; special friends, Earl Dufford and John Hayward. Donna was born in 1952 and graduated salutatorian from Morris Central School in 1970 and attended SUNY Cortland. Donna spent her working years in the food service industry. She owned Nick's Diner in Oneonta, and later moved to Binghamton, where she was most known for waitressing at The Red Oak for 20+ years. Donna loved to spend time with family, was an avid reader, enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks and liked to explore new places as long as she was behind the wheel. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend who always had a smile for everyone. Donna had a big heart and a generous and giving spirit; she donated her body to science at Upstate Medical for the good of others. The family would like to thank Dr. Lee, Dr. Varsos and the staff at Broome Oncology for their compassionate care. Expressions of sympathy in Donna's memory may be made to The American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
