Albert J. Hmurcik, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021, in the same home where he was born. He was the son of John & Anna Hmurcik, loving husband of Irene (Snupik) Hmurcik, with 63 years of marriage, father of David Hmurcik and Gary (Sara Fae Bastian) Hmurcik, and beloved grandfather of Chandler Hmurcik. Al's family were founding members of St. Ann's Church (now the Church of the Holy Trinity) where he served as a Altar Boy and continued his membership to this day. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and spent his 18th birthday on a ship headed for the Panama Canal and the Pacific. Al was employed by the City of Binghamton Bureau of Signals for over 30 years. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to either the Church of the Holy Trinity or the Woodrow Wilson Alumni Association.
