William L. Haun

1948 ~ 2021 (age 72)

Obituary

William Lynn Haun, 72, of Endicott made his transition alone, at home, on Monday,  April 26, 2021.  He suffered from alcoholism and had a difficult life. He was born in Pennsylvania, and attended Maine-Endwell high school. He worked for many years as a modern day lumberjack, and could effortlessly scale tall trees with a heavy chainsaw in hand. He was physically very strong, and a very hard worker.  For decades he spent almost every evening at The Pine Inn, in Endicott, where he was well loved and generous toward his many drinking buddies. In later years he would patronize other local pubs as well, including Waples and Toppers.
He loved old-time country music, especially Willie Nelson, and Emmylou Harris, and more recently had a tattoo of Norah Jones etched on his arm. He is survived by his brothers, C. Joseph Haun (Michele) and Timothy Haun (Janet); his children, Kelli Sedlak (Tom), Ilonka Michelle O’Neil (Todd), Christopher Haun (Lori), Donald Haun, and Timothy Haun; seven grandchildren; many nieces and a nephew. Though they divorced in the 1980’s, Annamary Wilson Haun (Church), mother of his five children, was the one true love of his life.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne and Donald Haun; and his two brothers, Donald and Robert.  We wish his life could have been easier. His children thank him for incarnating in this lifetime to help pull us through into this beautiful world. All of his descendants are good and kind people and we thank his soul for bravely paving our way. May he rest in sweet peace. There will be no services. We ask those wishing to honor his memory to give someone you might be judging the benefit of the doubt, and to offer them grace.  Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
