Robert V. Simonik, 89, passed away peacefully at Absolut Care on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Kuzel; his parents, Vincent & Regina Simonik; and his son David Simonik. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Simonik, of Apalachin; his son, Donald Simonik, of Johnson City; 6 grandchildren, Christiane (Kris) Chanitz, Ian Troiani, Joseph Troiani, Sandra (Michael) McCulskey, Nicholas Simonik and Tiffany Simonik; a great-grandson, Calvin McCulskey; and nieces, Maryann Kuzel and Christine Buchta. He was a member of Most Holy Rosary Church. Roz was a retired I.B.M. Corp. employee after 27 years of service and a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was also a member of the I.B.M. computer club, the Roberson photography club; he loved brain games and building engines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, NY. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
