Robert J. Gonos

Robert J. Gonos, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, after a short illness.  He was predeceased by his parents, Anne & Andy Gonos; 3 siblings, Donald, Richard and Marie Gonos.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Phyllis (Carter) Gonos; two daughters, Cindy Gonos (Tara DeFlippo), and Renee Ansari; one grandson, Rony Petit; one brother, Dennis Gonos; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.   Bob was a retired engineer of Rockwell International in California, Mississippi, and Owego, and was proud of his work on the Space Shuttle.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne.  He was an avid sports fan and outdoors man.  He loved  golfing, hunting, fishing, mushroom picking,  and enjoyed Czechoslovakian celebrations.   There will be no funeral services at this time.  Memorial donations may be made to WSKG Public Television.  Bob was a devoted family man.
