Richard M. Solomon, 76, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 29, 2016. He was predeceased by his son, Phillip Solomon; his daughter, Christine Solomon; his parents Julia & Michael Solomon; and his brother-in-law, George Miller. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Solomon; two beloved sisters, Carole Paul (Leroy White) and Gloria Nixon (Preston); a brother, Kenneth Solomon; nieces and nephews, Marcie, Christopher, Daniel, Erica, Adam (Kristie); and great-nieces, Ana and Liliann. Rich is also survived by his beloved sisters-in-law, Penny (Steve) Marshall and Carolyn Miller; and his cousins, Ted & Marion Potochniak. He was a 33-year veteran of the New York State Police. He began as a State Trooper in C troop, moving up the ranks through F, K and H troops, and completing his career as an Inspector in Albany, serving as Special Assigned Investigator for the Superintendent of the State Police. His job was everything to him and he loved it. He was a devoted and loving husband and father to his children. At his request, there will be no services.
