Richard (Dick) DeJohn, 90, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He left this world peacefully to return to his wife, Natalia, who predeceased him in 1999. Dick was also predeceased by his father and mother, Mario and Carmella; and his brother, Mario (Stretch). He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard II (Rick) & Jackie, and Rory & Vanessa; 4 grandchildren, Matthew & his wife, Lindsey, Morgan & her husband, Ryan Chapin, Amanda & her husband, Joseph Fetter and Logan DeJohn; one great-grandchild, Jacob Fetter; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, John & Pat, and Robert & Barbara. Dick served honorably in the US Navy in both WW II and the Korean War. Along with his father, Dick ran Alba Tile & Supply Co Inc. for many years. Many of their projects are still visible around Binghamton and NYS today. Dick loved his yard and growing tomatoes; his tomatoes were the pride of his garden. Dick will be missed as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, and at 9:30 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 37 Fayette St., Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
