Michael L. Shuta

Michael L. Shuta, 87, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2015.  He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Doris Shuta; a daughter, Vickie (Joseph) Slavetskas; a son, Michael Shuta, III; two grandsons, Matthew and Justin (fiancé, Jennifer Lorow) Slavetskas; one granddaughter, Sara (fiancé, Bartlett Holt) Slavetskas; two sisters-in-law, Betty and Laura Shuta; and several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his beloved cats.  Mike was a retired employee of the N.Y.S.D.O.T. and was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Conklin for decades.  He was very much loved by his family and would do anything to make them happy.  We cherished his smile and he will live forever in our hearts.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered.  Family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 10:00.  Burial will follow at   Vestal Hills Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the Humane Society or the Animal Care Council.  Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
