Michael A Pichura, Jr., 77, went into the arms of the Lord with quiet dignity on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael & Antoinette Pichura, Sr. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Eileen Pichura; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle & Stephen Niero, Garnerville, NY and Maggie & Billy Irizarry, of Newburgh, NY; four grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, Mateo and Salome; a brother and sister-in-law, George & Hope Pichura, of Johnson City; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray & Maureen Wirth, Patrick O'Connell and Kathleen O'Connell. Mike and Eileen were former parishioners of the Epiphany Parish in Liverpool, NY. He was a current member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, where he did whatever needed to be done. He served as the secretary of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery Association, was a Board member of the JC Fifty-year Club, and he volunteered with the Broome Co. Veterans Honor Guard group. He began his career at Argonne Laboratory in Illinois. Mike was a US. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, and was a retired employee of Carrier Corp. after 33 years of service. He was a 12-year employee of Young & Franklin. Mike was devoted to the people he loved; he was the first one to offer to help family, friends and strangers alike. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 12 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton, with Mike's cousin, Fr. James Serowik as celebrant. Family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 PM on Monday, November 11, at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, the Church of the Holy Trinity or St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
