Mary Ellen (Seymour) Harendza

Mary Ellen Harendza, 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at her home.  She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her children, Cathy, Stephen and infant, Paul Harendza.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky & Bill Talkiewicz; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Ben & Cindy Harendza, Joe & Fran Harendza, John & Margie Harendza, and Fr. Philip & BethAnne Harendza; 9 grandchildren, Lynn, Keith, Lisa, Adam, Corey, Casey, Africa Rachel, Agitha, Hunter; 10 great-grandchildren, Roshelle, Latrelle, Jordan, Ava, Madeline, Samuel, Abigail, Caiyah, Zeivah and Micah; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a member of St. James Church.  Mary Ellen was a retired Wilson Hospital food service worker after many years of service.  She belonged to a book club and enjoyed her get-togethers with the 'girls from Endicott Ave' and friends from her JCHS graduation class.  In addition to raising 7 children, Mary Ellen also participated in a golf league, bowled, skied, and even attempted skydiving. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at St. James Church, 155 Main St., Johnson City, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.  Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
