Lois Chojnacki Obituary

In the early morning hours of January 29, 2026, Lois Jean Chojnacki surrendered her breath, unlocking her spirit from her body to ascend to the cosmos. Lois is loved and remembered by her adopted children Selene Rojas and the late Selfick Ng-Simancas, brother Leon Chojnacki, nephews Joseph and Andrew Chojnacki, niece Phaedra Chojnacki, and cousin Jane Williams. Lois Jean Chojnacki entered this world a beautiful baby girl in 1948, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York, born to first-generation Polish immigrant parents, Leon J. and Eugenia Chojnacki. She grew up in a house on 105 Main Street in Vestal, New York where her family also owned and operated a clothing store called College Town Shop. She graduated in 1966 from Seton Catholic High School, earned a BA in 1971 from Alliance College, an independent, liberal arts college located in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania, founded by the Polish National Alliance (PNA), and eventually earned an MA in Social Work from Marywood University, a comprehensive, independent, private, Catholic university located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Lois was licensed as a social worker in the state of New York and practiced there for over three decades. After ten years living on her own in New York City and traveling to Poland, she returned to Binghamton to care for her aging parents. She adopted Selene and Selfick and remained in Binghamton for the rest of her life. Lois will be remembered for her selflessness and generosity. We know that now she is travelling freely across the universe.
