Linda D. (Smith) Kavulich

Linda Smith Kavulich 73, died on March 5, 2025.  She peacefully passed under the gentle and compassionate care of the staff at Mercy House. She was predeceased by her parents Maggie and Jim Smith; her sister Marge Warner; her brother Tom Smith; her brother in-law Bob Kavulich; and in-laws Marge and Andy Kavulich.  She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Andy Kavulich.  Andy was an outstanding caregiver for Linda throughout her illness.  She is also survived by her sons,  Andrew and Brett Kavulich, whom she cherished; granddaughters, Renee and Natalie Kavulich; sister in-law Barbara Lynch and her husband, Jerry Pilkington of Florida; sister in-law Sherri Kavulich; brother in-law Ron Kavulich and his wife Ann; nephew, Roger Warner of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and her loving kitty Rosie.  Linda graduated from Johnson City High School with no honors, Broome Community College with honors, and Binghamton University, Magna Cum Laude.  She was a substitute teacher in local area schools for over twenty-two years.  She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking.  She tried to find something to laugh about every day.   Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bednarsky Funeral Home, 96 Glenwood Avenue Binghamton. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Mercy House of the Southern Tier in her honor. The family would like to thank Dr. Kimberly Desantis, Dr. Oleg Shapiro, and the staff at Lourdes Hospice and Mercy House for all their wonderful care.
