Joseph "Butch" J. Rexford

Joseph "Butch" J. Rexford, 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his home.  He was predeceased by his son, Joseph D. Rexford; his grandson, John Hudson; parents, Joseph P. & Anna Rexford;  his sister, Ann C. Spolsky; his brother-in-law, Armand DeRitis; brothers-in-law, John, Leonard and Frank Kosicki; sister-in-law, Sophie DeLuca; and his nephew, Brian Rexford. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rose Rexford; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly & Allen Hudson, of Stouchsburg, PA. and Lynn & Charles "Patrick" McNeal, of Binghamton; nine grandchildren, Shannon Ingerman, Meghan & Tyler Gogluizza, MaryKate & Joseph Seborowski, Allen, Aaron, Joseph,  Adam, Molly and Mackenzie Hudson. Butch is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Liam Nolan Gogluizza and Kelsey Ann Seborowski; a sister, Joyce DeRitis; many nieces, nephews, cousins; his IBM lunch crew and his snowbird friends from FL.  He was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity; and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  Butch was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.  He was retired employee of I.B.M. Corp., with 33 years of service.  He was a volunteer tax preparer for AARP and had many other jobs; including being a milkman, a baker and a bartender.  Butch had a smile that could light up a room and a friendly wave for everyone; he never made anyone feel like a stranger.  He will be greatly missed.  A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Trinity.  Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
