Joseph A. Walikis

Joseph A. Walikis, of Baldwinsville, NY, formerly of Apalachin, left this world on February 19, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was a three-year Navy veteran and served on the USS Kyne.  He retired after 28 years in IBM Owego and Endicott, working as an Information Developer.  Joseph was an excellent accordion player and performed with many bands since the 1950's. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ann and Anthony Walikis; and brothers, James and Daniel.  He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 55 years; son, Richard, of Fulton, NY; daughter, Patricia, of Latham, NY; grand-daughters, Madelyn and Maggie, also of Baldwinsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friend and grand-dog, Nippy.  He will be missed. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. Services will be private. Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
