John Wright, Jr.

John Wright Jr, 57, of Binghamton, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 14, 2016, after a long battle with illness.  He was predeceased by his brother, Jerome. He is survived by his father, John L. Wright, Sr. and his mother, Edith Wright, both of New York City; 3 sisters, Martha, Verdell and half-sister, Maeloa; 4 brothers, Phillip, Eric, adoptive brother, Nicholas and half-brother, Brian;  John Jr. left behind 10 children, John V. Mitchell, Jaivon Wright, Olivia, Devante, Elijah, Teja, Malakhi, Kilil, Tamel, Aaliyah;  and 2 grandchildren, Reese and Jerome.
He is also survived by his significant other, Susan Lange; a niece, Latasha Doxen; 8 nephews, Larice, Michael, Derrick, Patrick, Melik, Vriel, Jayli, Prince; and a host of cousins.
John Wright was the second-born of six children.  He moved from New York City to Binghamton, NY, in 1984.  The people who had the luxury of knowing John Jr. knew that he loved to dance until he sweated. He would always be the last one on the dance floor and the last one to be seated. Even though he lived in Binghamton, John had expensive taste and New York City was the only place that could satisfy his sense of fashion.  John Jr. would always go back to update his wardrobe by shopping in the Bronx stores in New York.
In his leisure time he loved to ride around town listening to his favorite music.
John had great love for Jesus Christ and believed greatly in the power of prayer.  On Thursday, January 14, 2016, John Jr. departed this life into the presence of our Lord and Savior. His departure has left a great void to those close to him.  We rejoice in knowing that John Jr. is at peace and is in the presence of the Lord.  All that knew him will truly miss John Jr. His loved ones will always cherish his spirit and memories.  May he rest in eternal peace.
