John M. Lakomec

John Lakomec died on Monday, February 23, 2015, at the of 90, after an extended illness.  He will be dearly missed, but thankfully, his suffering is over.  John was predeceased by his parents, Stephan & Anna; and siblings, Mary and Michael.  He is survived by his children, John Lakomec (Sandi) and Terri Bobal (Edward); grandchildren, John, Bret and Presley; as well as many extended family members, including his former wife, Joan.  John was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church and he appreciated the ongoing support via his church family.  He was also a decorated US Army veteran of WW II, serving in the Infantry in Burma.  Those wishing may make a donation in John's memory to the Humane Society, 4 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903, or to St. Michael's Church, 296 Clinton St., Binghamton, NY  13905. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date.  Funeral arrangements were provided by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
