John Behanick, 87, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Wilson Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosemarie; and his son, Timothy. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy & Timothy Burnett, Rossane & William Yonkoski; and one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Judith Behanick; 7 grandchildren, Joshua & Heather, Andrew & Suzanne, Ashley, Michael, Olivia, Jordan and Joshua; and 3 great-grandchildren, Avery, Maya and Brooks. John is also survived by his sister, Josephine Dougher; and his brother and sister-in-law, Frank & Pat Behanick; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a sister-in-law, Dawn Saeman. He was a devout member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, and belonged to the Holy Name Society and the Nocturnal Adoration Society. John served in the US Army. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather, and served as the primary caretaker for his wife, Rosemarie for 10 years. John was the best role model anyone could have; he was an inspiration and his integrity guided us through life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was dedicated to his church community. John sure loved to eat, and especially loved his ice cream! A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 12:30 PM at the Church of the Holy Trinity, where the family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of the Mass at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery in the Spring.
