Joan M. (Gulbin) Nezelek

Joan M. Nezelek, 87, went to rest with the Lord on Friday, June 23, 2023. She is survived by her loving family; three children and their spouses, Mary Jo & Dominic Feroleto, John & Barb Nezelek, Jodi & Steve Huebner; 7grandchildren, Lauren Feroleto, Caitlin and Josh Grasso, Sarah, Johnny (fiancé Nicole Gardner) and Jimmy Nezelek, Kelsey and Allyson Huebner; her brother Richard Gulbin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, John C. Nezelek; daughter, Angela Nezelek; and parents, Mary and Charles Gulbin. In life Joan loved and enjoyed her family first, before anything else, and spending as much time with them as possible.  She also enjoyed traveling around the United States, going “out to dinner” and telling stories of her childhood. She always made it a point to attend as many sporting events, musical performances, and graduations as possible and actively celebrated the achievements of her children and grandchildren. Joan was an active member of the Broome County Special Olympics, talking hands, and mothers club. Joan graduated from Johnson City High School in 1954 where she was a cheerleader and wildcat for life. Joan was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton.  Family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Broome County Special Olympics or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
