Helen Judith Molnar, 95, went home to her precious Lord and Savior on Friday, March 20, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles & Anna Debnar; her husband, Eddy; grandson, David Homanich; sister, Margaret Debnar; brother and sister-in-law, Fred & Wanda Debnar; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert & Ethel (Molnar) Scala. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy & George Homanich, and Kathy & John Yannuzzi; 1 granddaughter, Sarah Homanich; cousin, Albert (Betty) Pudish; many nieces, nephews and their families. Helen attended Binghamton Central HS where she earned a letter for basketball (much to the chagrin of her brother, Freddie). She loved dancing to the big bands at the JC Pavilion where the other couples would form a circle around Helen and her partner to watch them dance. Helen was a living example of love and kindness. She was happiest when she was feeding people-you could never leave her table without extra helpings of everything. Her baking earned Helen the nickname "St. Ginger" for the wonderful gingerbread men she made. She loved search word puzzles, Wheel of Fortune, anything with peanut butter on it, but above all she loved God. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity. Her faith was deep and unshakeable; the rosary and Mass were a part of her daily life. The family would like to thank Bernadette, Jenna, Kari, Kia, Leeann and the hospice staff for their wonderful care. Special thanks to Patty Fian and Cissy Gramegna for loving and caring for Helen as if she were their own mother. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, NY. Memorial donations may be made to Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
