Helen E. Lasky, age 86, formerly of Rochester MN, and Binghamton NY, died Monday, October 10, 2016 in Green Bay, WI. She was born in 1930 to John and Mary O'Brien.
Helen is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Carol Lasky (Bovey, MN), Joan and Greg Kinate (Green Bay, WI), Joseph and Nora Lasky (New Orleans, LA) and Kathleen and Brent Calkins (Houston, TX); her grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, Alexis, Ross, Maxwell, Sasha, Tara, James and Paige; seven great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters and their spouses, John and Donna O'Brien, Dennis O'Brien, Kathleen Blackman, and Marylou and Joseph Bokol. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Theodore "Ted" Lasky; her parents, John and Mary; and her two sisters and a brother, Anne Bulger, Patricia Lasky and Cornelius "Neal" O'Brien, and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as other relatives and friends. Friends may call at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester, MN on Friday, October 14, 2016. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held after the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Holy Spirit Cemetery, Upper Front Street, Binghamton, NY. Blaney Funeral Home, Green Bay, WI is assisting the family. Helen enjoyed people. Many of her hobbies included gardening, playing cards and games, watching the wildlife in her back yard, singing and devotion to her church. Throughout her life she volunteered for many activities her children were involved with, and later in life for people in need. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Pax Christi Church, Rochester MN. A special "Thank You" to Mom's friends whose love and support has been there for her for many years.
