Helen (Basos) Hritcko, 92, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Hritcko; her parents, John and Julia Basos; a sister, Mary Donahue; and three brothers, George, John and Bill Basos. She is survived by four children, Greg and Peggy Hritcko, Darceia and Tim Springer, Michael Hritcko and Christopher and Lisa Hritcko; six grandchildren, Clarissa, Katelyn, Brandy (Chris), Tyler (Aly), Kyle (Emma) and Griffin; 6 great-grandchildren, Dean, Noah, Evan, Ella, Amalia and Marlowe; and many nieces and nephews. Our Mom was smart and funny, feisty and fiercely protective of her family. A full-time home maker, she prioritized and advocated for her family in many circumstances. She was an excellent cook and always took loving care of those around her. She had a deep faith and was an active member of her parish when her health allowed. Helen was a member of St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church, 296 Clinton St., Binghamton, where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the church. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her through family, love and friendship. Rest in Peace Mom.
