Graciela Quinn Obituary

Graciela Vega Quinn, 63, of Aibonito passed away December 23, 2021, in Binghamton NY. Predeceased by her husband, Roger Scott Quinn,of Harpursville NY, who passed on April 22, 2012. Graciela was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico.  She was an amazing daughter, mother, grandmother, wife and sister. Grace was a woman of many talents and had a big kind heart. Grace loved to crochet, she would make beautiful bathroom sets and dresses for dolls. Grace loved to dance, sing and whistle. She loved to build big, complicated puzzles and afterwards glue them together and hang up her masterpiece. She loved all kinds of animals, especially hummingbirds, finches, dogs and ferrets. Grace was an amazing cook and always found a way to smile even when she was sad; her smile would light up a room. She was God’s daughter with a very big, kind compassionate heart. She would make time to pray for the sick. She was a great loving mother and a survivor. She was a Christian who did so much for many without expecting anything back. Grace would never forget her children’s birthdays; we knew to expect her call, she would sing us happy birthday with so much joy and happiness. Her excitement was priceless and will never be forgotten.  Her “I love you” would pierce our ears and our hearts and instill in us that it’s never good-bye but later. Grace is survived by her children, Miguel Benitez, Irma Luz Montañez, Diana Yudith Benitez, Iris Jahaira Vega, Caroline Jeanette Benitez and Luis Daniel Vega; her 16 grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers. She was the greatest mom anyone could ever ask for. Her smile, love and hugs were timeless and forever everlasting. We know that you are watching over us and know that one day we will meet again, the day you can meet us at the gates. We love you and will always be in our hearts.

If flowers grow in heaven

Lord, then pick a bunch for us.

Then place them in our mother’s arms

and tell her they’re from all of us.

Tell her that we love and miss her

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek and

hold her for a while.
