Frank R. Tripicco, 100, passed away peacefully after receiving Last Rites on Monday, April 6, 2026. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy in 2023; his parents, Frank and Mary Tripicco; his sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) & Joseph Konnick and Romaine & Charles Fisher; and his brother, Joseph. He is survived by his three sons and their spouses, Dennis & Marylee, Francis & Patti and David & Marci; six grandchildren and their spouses, Michael & Jessica, Evan & Jessica, Andrew, Michele & Ryan, Courtney & Corey and Matthew; six great-grandchildren, Miriam, Jack, Luke, Evelyn, Vivian and Parker. Also survived by his sister-in-law, Rita; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his former daughter-in-law, Jeanette Tripicco; and several good friends. Frank was a lifelong member of the Church of the Holy Trinity (St. Ann's). He was a retired 30-year employee of the USPS. Before that he was the owner/operator of one of the first Carvel Ice Cream Shops in the Broome County area. He was a U.S. Army combat veteran of WW 2, serving in the China-India-Burma campaign. Frank was awarded a Bronze Star. After being discharged, he reenlisted and served as prison guard for the Nuremberg trials. He was life member of Post 478 VFW and Post 1254 American Legion. Also a member of the Elks Club. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing and being with his buddies. Frank's final request was that his body be donated to Upstate Medical. A Funeral Mass will be offered at a later date (to be announced) and burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery. Thanks to the entire staff at the Oxford VA Home for their beyond amazing care of Frank. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford residents accounts, 4207 NY Rte. 220, Oxford, NY 13830.
