Derek E. Arnold

Derek E. Arnold, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025.  He was predeceased by his parents, Eddie & Joyce Arnold.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Arnold; two sisters, Lisa & Alan Hathaway and Adrian & Chuck Hudanich; a nephew, Ashley Hathaway and two nieces, Sandy and Bridgette Hathaway.  He held an Associates degree from BCC.  Derek was employed as a paralegal, and interned at the State capitol; he later served as a child support investigator for BCDSS.  Derek was a descendent of Benedict Arnold; he was a musician and played guitar in several local bands. He loved animals and was a volunteer rescuer.  Derek also liked to fly fish.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.  Memorial donations may be made to the BC Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave., Binghamton, NY 13903.
