Obituary

Charles T. Rabeler, 89, our beautiful and beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, went to be with the Lord when angels carried him to heaven on Saturday, February 11, 2023.  He was predeceased by his son, John André Rabeler; his parents, Alex & May Rabeler; his siblings, Alex Rabeler, Jr., Raymond Rabeler and Ruth Donohue.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marianne Rabeler; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sylvia & John Skok and Ramona Rabeler; two grandsons, Aidan J. Koch and Andreas R. Koch, and their father, James J. Koch; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.  Born in Nebraska, the family moved to Bovina, NY when Charles was young.  He attended a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Delaware Academy. He earned his BS. in Agriculture from Cornell University, and was the owner/operator of the Rableler Dairy Farm in Bovina.  He was later employed as a real estate agent in Syracuse and was an award-winning salesperson for Pitney-Bowes and IBA Agricultural Sales.  After college, Charles married Marianne, his beautiful wife, to whom he was dearly devoted.  Charles was a faithful Lutheran.  He was also a skilled pinochle, ping-pong, chess player and cake decorator.  The family will hold a private funeral service and burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Delhi at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org.  Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
