Anna (Stefanisko) Solyak

Anna Solyak, 94, peacefully went to be with Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Lourdes Hospice.  She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, George Solyak; parents, William & Anna Stefanisko; 2 sisters, Mary Ondrusek and Veronica Bennett; and a brother, John Sabol. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda A. & Gordon P. Hanson, of Tucson, AZ;  her son and daughter-in-law, George D. & Theresa I. Solyak, of Lititz, PA.;  4 grandchildren, Andrea G. (Steve) Koivisto, Kyle (Megan) Solyak, Greg Solyak and Scott Solyak; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was a member of the Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, serving in the choir and the mother's club.  Anna was a retired employee of Maple Vail Press, formerly Vail-Ballou Press.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She also enjoyed playing golf and vacationing at the beach.  The family would like to thank the staff at Hilltop Campus on 1West and at Lourdes Hospice for the loving care given to Anna.  Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday at Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, and at 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, 360 Clinton St., Binghamton, where a Funeral Service will be offered.  Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home, where the Parastas will be recited at 6:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Church.
