Our precious Alexandra Elizabeth Corkel Aitken left her mortal body at her home late Sunday night, February 7, 2021, at 65 years young. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Laura Aitken; and her sister-in-law Catherine. She is survived by her husband David Brink; her adopted daughter, Elizabeth Wilmarth; her four grandchildren Nevaeh Rose, Amia Caressa-Marie, Layla Skyann, and Liam Jackson; her brother, Peter and wife, Maxine; her nephew, Benjamin and his wife, Heidi, with children, Sarah and Hanna; her niece, Claire; and her uncle, Nando Tapia. Liz was as smart as she was beautiful, as energetic as a bunny, and optimistic about everything. She loved living. She loved people and music and nature and food and reading and flowers and cats and PEOPLE. She dedicated her life to helping women have a choice in their own lives. She started in women's healthcare as a volunteer out of college, then went on to become Assistant Director for Southern Tier Women's Services, where she dedicated her lifetime to helping all women receive every opportunity possible. Liz suffered a debilitating scoliosis that led to paralyzation for the last 5 years which she battled with all her might. She smiled in the face of this tragedy again and again while her body faded from this heavy toll. She is now free of that body as her eternal essence continues to warm our hearts and enrich our lives with her wonderful love forevermore. At Alex's request, there will be an outdoor celebration of her life once weather permits. Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
