Alan M. Heaver, 73, of Binghamton, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. Alan was predeceased by his father, George Heaver in 1968; and his mother, Eleanor Heaver-Watson in 2002. His sister, Pricilla Lydia (Heaver) Thomas, departed in 2001; his brother, George Alexander Heaver departed in 2005; and nephew Sean Heaver, in 2019. Despite life’s challenges, Alan found great joy through westerns, music and dancing, and the simple pleasures of back rubs, hugs, and coffee. His warmth and love were reciprocated by the family at Achieve, Wilson Hill Road, who cared for him devotedly. Alan is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Michelle Watson of Whitney Point, his brother Robert Watson of Lisle, and his sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and John Cobb of Schenevus. He leaves behind a legacy in the hearts of nieces and nephews: Carol Bernstein, Kimberly Lee and Vanessa Heaver-Kuncze, Laural, Krista, Caden, Callie, Colton, Thane, Shylee, Carissa Watson, Adrianna and Alex Watson, Tara Benson and Latisha Canfield. A funeral service to honor Alan’s life will be held at a later date at the West Oneonta Cemetery, West Oneonta, where he will find eternal rest next to his beloved mother, Eleanor Heaver-Watson, and sister, Pricilla Thomas.
