Sam Santora (Sammy), 32, of Binghamton, passed away suddenly on January 11, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Arnold (Derek), his father, Sal Santora (Nancy), his brother, Nick Santora; his sister, Stephanie Affatato (Mike); his niece and nephew, Travis and Madeline Affatato; also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Despite his challenges with Autism and Parkinson’s Disease, he was a very happy young man. He enjoyed rollercoasters, car rides, playing in parks, watching Blue’s Clues and listening to the radio. He was a fast runner and kept his mother in shape from chasing him. He taught everyone who worked with him patience, understanding and unconditional love. The world won’t be the same without him. The Bible verse that best reminds us of him is, “But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace”. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 26th at 1:00 PM at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc. 96 Glenwood Ave. Binghamton, NY. A dinner will follow at HCA 1329 Campville Rd. Endicott, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sam’s memory to HCA 18 Broad St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
