Ruth E. Shampang

Ruth E. Shampang, 90, died at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank & Maude Wild; her husband, Louis J. Shampang, a son, Eugene Shampang, and Richard Doebler. She is survived by a son, Louis Shampang Jr. of Biloxi, MS, and three daughters, Mrs. Louella Wercholuk, Orlando, FL, Mrs. Barbara Chowning, Williamsburg, VA, and Elizabeth Shampang, Clifton Park, NY; as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Nathan & Angie Councilman, Rodney Councilman, Ruth Mc Mullen, Mary Councilman and Irene Heery. Ruth was a kind and gentle lady who will be missed by all who knew her. Interment will be held at the Chenango Valley Cemetery on Nowlan Road on Friday, November 10, at 1 p.m. In addition, a Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 11th, at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post #1194, 363 W. Service Rd, Binghamton, NY. The immediate family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Patti Kark, Danielle and their family for caring for Ruth for the past few years.
