Jeffrey K. Reester

Jeffrey K. Reester 53, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Mercy House after a courageous nearly five-year battle with pancreatic cancer.  He is survived by his sons Jason and Jared;  parents Ken and Anne Marie;  brother Kevin (Kara);  sister Lori (Dan Kosick);  a nephew,  three nieces; and Joan Reester, mother of his sons.  Jeff graduated from ME High School, Broome CC and RPI with a degree in Computer & Systems Engineering.  He worked for IBM Endicott for almost a decade.  He then joined Kevin, working for a startup company in Endicott (Atlas Commerce, now Jaggaer). He was an accomplished software architect and very dedicated to his craft, often able to solve problems that others could not.  He was passionate about auto racing and a dedicated NASCAR fan.  He loved cars in general and could fix almost anything.  He also enjoyed watching golf and collecting coins.  Jeff loved his two sons and was a dedicated father, who enjoyed attending their school events and helping out when needed over the years.  The family would like to thank the staff at Lourdes Broome Oncology and Lourdes Ross 1, and most recently, the staff and volunteers at Mercy House for their kind and compassionate care.  The family will receive friends on Saturday December 15 from 11:00 AM - 1:00PM  at Bednarsky Funeral Home, 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, where a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff's memory to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 McKinley Ave., Endicott, NY 13760 or a church/charity of your choice.
