Doris M. (Shipko) Hojsik

Doris M. Hojsik, 88, of Binghamton, N.Y. passed away November 21, 2017.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, Michael and Hermina Shipko, brother Frederick Shipko and son Raymond Hojsik. Doris is survived by her ex-husband Anthony Hojsik, son Ronald Hojsik, daughter Diane (Glen) Wood, and her grandchildren: Anthony (Jenna) Hojsik, Jessica (Matthew) Benson, Alicia Hojsik, Brian Boncamper, Brandon Boncamper, and great-grandchildren: Brooks and Bryce Benson and Hanna Hojsik.  Doris was full of charisma and spunk and had a warm sparkle to her that could brighten anyone’s day. She could often be seen in pearls and purple and had the most beautiful blue eyes that told everything about her. If you were lucky enough (which many were) she would give you a hug and call you her “sweetheart.” That is just who she was; a publicly-spirited person. It was crystal clear that she loved people, her family and God. Her last few years were spent happily at St. Louis Manor and the family is truly grateful to the staff for their wonderful care.   On Saturday, November 25th, the family will receive friends at St. James Church from 9:30am-10:30am followed by a mass.  Burial will take place at Slovak Catholic Cemetery.        Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
