Funeral Costs
When we discuss the expenses associated with a funeral or a memorialization, we essentially must address two components. The first component is the services provided by the funeral home staff. The second is merchandise selected.
Please note that an itemized general price list is available upon request and will be provided in writing or discussed over the telephone during regular business hours.
Funerals are for the living.

Full service funerals are what we call the tradition of having a viewing of the deceased person's body in a casket with visitation by family and friends. This is usually followed by a service either the next day or that same day, either in a church or at the funeral home. Often the family and friends will gather at the funeral home prior to the service to accompany the deceased person's transfer to the church. The service is followed by either burial of the deceased person or by cremation. The service charge for a funeral as described above is $4390.00
Direct service funerals are also known as direct burial or direct cremation. In this type of memorialization, the deceased person is viewed only for the purposes of identification (if necessary). There is no visitation or service included. Instead, the deceased person is taken to the place of final disposition, such as a cemetery or crematory without a service being held. The service charge for the above is $1895.00
Full service cremations are a type of memorialization in which there is a gathering of family and friends at the funeral home for an hour of visitation, usually with the cremated remains present, followed by a service and burial. The service charge for a full service cremation funeral is $3390.00, which includes an urn.

Merchandise is the way we refer to items such as caskets, vaults, urns, urn vaults, etc. At Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., we have a selection room of full sized caskets and urns as well as a vault display. Our suppliers include Batesville Casket Co., Inc., Aurora Casket Co., Inc. and Fort Miller Service Corp. Casket prices range in price from $1150.00-$9999.00. Outer Interment Receptacles range in price from $1775.00-$5850.00. Urns range in price from $105.00-$525.00.
It is our goal to be available for any type of service that you may select. The full service funeral charge includes every aspect of the services that we provide. This includes things such as prayer cards, a register book and a temporary grave marker. There are no hidden fees, and the cost any listed service that you choose not to use will be deducted from the total. Conversely, the direct service funeral does not include additional services such as visitation, but we are here to assist you in planning any kind of memorialization.
