Katherine M. Kolota, 95, our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. She has joined in heaven her husband, Chet, parents, Frank and Mary Kulheim, brothers, Stanley, Jerry, Michael, sisters, Mary, Betty, Rose, Irene and many loving family members and friends. She is survived by her children, Chester C. Kolota and Ann Marie (Paul) Ripic; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Jessica) Ripic, Joshua Ripic, and Anna (Caleb) Harper; a great grand baby on the way; sisters, Mildred and Lillian; as well as very special nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity. Katherine worked at Endicott Johnson Shoe Company, Susquehanna Nursing Home, and Binghamton University. Family was everything to Katherine. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and was so proud of their accomplishments. She loved keeping in touch with her nieces and nephews, and so enjoyed their visits and phone calls. Just being around family meant the world to her. Katherine will be remembered for her big heart and generous soul. A special thanks to Dr. John Bertini, nurse Breanna Hoyt and the staff at Lourdes Hospital 1 Ross West for their loving and compassionate care of Katherine in her final days. You're truly angels. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM Memorial donations may be made to Mercy House, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Stan's Cemetery Fund.
